Few people know how to match New Yorkers with their carbs better than Sean Feeney.
As a co-founder of Grovehouse Hospitality Group, the team behind Brooklyn institutions Lilia and Misi, Feeney has a track record of building successful restaurants around the kind of fork-dropping pasta moments that make weeks of anticipation worth it. In 2022, Feeney decided his next business would take on a restaurant model even closer to the soul of New York: The neighborhood pizza shop.
“From a young age growing up in New Jersey, I’ve always been obsessed with local pizzerias,” Sean says. “I crave pizza 24/7, but I also love the role these restaurants play in their communities. That’s what we were most excited about when we opened Fini.”
Since even a local slice shop needs to have technology at its core, Fini launched in August 2022 with Clover as its point-of-sale system. “The most important question we ask about any tech we use is, Does it make us faster, smarter, and kinder?” Sean says. “This helps us be as vertically integrated as possible. We use technology to drive our hospitality in a way that makes everyone feel like a friend of ours, whether it’s your second visit with us or your 500th.”

Rapid expansion
Armed with Clover, Fini has spent a very busy first few years expanding to three locations: the original in Williamsburg, Brooklyn; a location in Amagansett, Long Island; and even an outpost at Barclays Center, the home arena of the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty.
“We believe in delivering good days together,” Sean says of the simple ethos at the heart of the operation. “We get excited about scaling the reason why Fini exists, and that can take many shapes inside and outside our four walls.”

Hitting the Road
In 2025, Fini Pizza is taking expansion to a whole new level with Fini on the Road, a project that will pop-up the classic New York pizza shop in cities across the country. For a neighborhood slice shop that’s always had a community-first mindset, the project is a chance to make connections in even more places.
“Fini on the Road allows our team to see new neighborhoods and meet new guests across the country and world,” Sean says. “We love the challenge and idea of fitting into new places and feeling like we’ve always been there.”
First stop? New Orleans, LA from February 3–9, where Fini Pizza will be part of the festivities surrounding a certain football championship taking place in the Superdome.
“We can’t wait to spread love, celebrate family and friends, and express our gratitude with each guest who walks through our doors in New Orleans,” Sean says. “We hope it’s a memory that will last a lifetime for each person!”
