If you are processing a credit card payment without the card present (in industry parlance it’s called “card not present”), the percentage jumps to around 3.5% to cover the added risk. Ask your bank as well as your merchant processing provider for their fee information, and don’t be afraid to ask detailed questions. Usually this software cost varies based on the type of device you are using, but it generally ranges from about $15 to $70 each month as a flat fee.
